"The matching challenge grant funds from the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Foundation have been instrumental for Community Warehouse as a springboard to increasing our own capacity to fundraise. The matching grant funds have been a valuable lesson in the type of appeals we make to both foundations and private donors. We are now using the matching funds model in two new projects. In both cases, we have asked private donors and foundations for an initial donation and then created fundraising goals to match the amount."
