Despite a somewhat hesitant launch three years ago, the value to Garten Services of an annual major donor program (at the $1,000 level) led by the board and key staff has proven to be a true benefit to our financial footing. Several board members who were presumed to be of insufficient means to donate at the $1,000 level instead delivered, serving as an inspiration to others.

The funding we received from the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund, combined with the required board-led fundraising model for creating an annual major donor circle, has resulted in greater sustainability for Garten. Garten’s Donor Circle will continue as an ongoing annual fundraising mechanism.
