Loaves & Fishes

Loaves & Fishes Meal Delivery
The Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund has been an integral part of Loaves & Fishes Centers’ success since our beginning in 1970. A gift from Fred and Maybelle Clark Macdonald helped to create the first commercial kitchen that produced more than 24 million meals serving seniors in Clackamas, Washington and Multnomah Counties. Mrs. Macdonald personally delivered “Meals-On-Heels” for many years and her legacy has inspired thousands of other volunteers to offer service.

In 2003 a new state-of-the-art kitchen was constructed, with the support and leadership of the MCM Fund. The guidance provided during the capital campaign helped our agency to establish a more strategic fundraising philosophy building for the future needs of the aging baby boomers.

Loaves & Fishes Centers’ President’s Round Table, a membership-based major gift campaign, received its start with a challenge grant from the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund. What began with just 89 members in 2003 now boasts nearly 500 members and represents a key source of operational funding for the agency.

The Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund has always been there when we were most challenged, providing Loaves & Fishes Centers with the means to leverage other funding sources allowing the agency to expand capacity and continue to ensure that no senior will go hungry.
